BC 160 Pellet Burner

The Pellagri burner is the heart of the system. Able to take advantage of less expensive and readily available local material, this innovative, CSA approved burner is ideally suited for municipalities and small commercial applications up to 15,000 ft². Units can be placed in parallel (up to four units or a 650,000 BTU/HR) to increase the energy requirements for larger applications up to 60,000 ft².

The system can be installed internally to a new or existing structure, or externally as a supplementary heating unit or retrofit for existing heating systems to stabilize energy costs. System prices start at $70,000 including fuel storage.

Boiler

Pellagri uses the trusted Newmac boiler in combination with its burner system for new or renovation installations. Existing boilers may be able to be utilized. Staff will need to assess the boiler’s suitability.

Electrical Co-generation Systems

As a further benefit, Pellagri Energy systems can supply and install adapted small-scale co-generation systems utilizing agricultural and/or forestry residue to supply both heat and electricity from one system. Installation of 100 KW electrical and approximately 300 KW thermal energy allows clients to fall within the net metering guidelines established by the PEI government and therefore realize a higher return for the power generated. This size of co-generation system is ideally suited for schools, small hospitals and any municipality or private business with a localized electrical and thermal load. System prices for co-generation start at $350,000 with an attractive return on investment rate of 4-7 years while providing full time employment opportunities.

Pellets / Pellet Mills

The Pellagri burner is designed to use pellets from a variety of sources that can include high quality (low ash) wood pellets which are widely distributed for home use, and lower quality (high ash) pellets from agricultural sources. Pellagri manufactures pellets from straw and can provide pellets for local installations.

Pellagri sells and install pellet mills utilizing wood or agricultural feedstock with a capacity of 1-10 MT/hr. Option include biomass fired drier systems, and semi-automatic or automatic bagging lines. Pellagri offers individual components or the full line at retail and turnkey prices.
